feathe.rs , feathers blogging back to basics , a great app for writers , literature on web , distraction free writing , oAuth twitter , simple Interface UI/UX
feathers : By writers , for writers

I was recently invited for a beta testing of Feathers , and boy , it is awesome . It is probably the very first web writing app that being beautiful it is easy to use at the same time. Feathers gets you focused on writing a real  blog post ( like back in 2003 ) , you need not care about templates , images , tags or SEO just share it via Twitter or Facebook .

Feathers is a distraction-free writing app for the web. Forget about blogging: no settings to adjust, no themes to install, no tags to think, no preview to click.Enjoy a new writing experience and share beautiful articles that are a pleasure to read on every device.

Well , it's actually blogging back to basics . Writing on feathers is actually quite a simple task , with it's simple interface . But , I was actually quite disappointed by it . It doesn't support images nor links . It is pure writing .   Though being a great concept , it lacks a lot of goodies .

Check out a quick demo of feathers

Feathers is currently in Beta , so you'll need an invite to use it . But after getting an invite , all the login work is done via the Twitter OAuth . After the login , you get the basic guide on how to use it and publish it .
It also has a nice toggle button on the top right hand corner , that clears everything from the screen so that you can write and write .

After using it for quite some time , I love how the "text-centric" approach to blogging , but it does lack some features . Other than commenting , it doesn't have bold or Italics option . I'd say :

Feathers is like Note ( on Windows ) but on Web.
UPDATE : I recently stumbled upon a similar app to feathers - Throwww . That has actually more features than feathers. Check it out .

What are your thoughts on this ?
